J.R. didn't give the league much of choice, though, because even after being warned, he went ahead and tried to pull the same stunt on Greg Monroe last night. After the game, he offered this…um…explanation: "I wasn't really too concerned about [getting fined],'' Smith said after the game. When asked if he understood the message from the league, Smith said, "Yes and no. I'm not really supposed to talk about it.'' The Portuguese giants said in a statement to Portugal’s stock exchange that they had acquired 35 percent of the economic rights of James Rodriguez for €8.75 million.
This has taken club’s total investment in the player to €13.55 million, which looks a very good deal considering the player is now worth at least twice that amount.
